Alleluia! He is Risen! He is Risen indeed!
Can you feel it in the air? See it in the signs of Spring? Carry it in your step?
Look at the day through the lens of the Resurrection, and you can't help but feel OK. Even with the news of yet another public shooting, we have to lean into the Lord and trust that He is here with us and will lead us through.
The Psalmist prays, "Keep me safe, O God; you are my hope." Jesus says, "Do not be afraid."
The family and friends of those who died today feel the weight of the loss while the world says, Rejoice always! I don't know the people involved in the tragedy on either side, victim or offender, but I also feel immense sadness. I'm sad for the loved ones left behind -- all of them on both sides -- asking the same questions How? Why? What next?
Our world changes every time another person dies, no matter the cause. It is just different. There is a different footprint, different air, different tomorrows.
How do we go on? How do we recover? How do we stop the violence?
Only through God can we be OK and take the next breath.
Only in God can we begin anew and take the next step.
Only with God can we make it better and take responsibility.
How? by caring
Why? because we can make a difference
What next? make eye contact, smile, be kind
Those simple things can change the world when we each do our part in our locale.
When we make eye contact, the other person doesn't feel forgotten and alone.
When we smile, we spread joy.
When we are kind, it brings calmness to the situation.
We continue to pray for peace. We need to also be the peace. We believe God can and will do this. But, we each have to do our part.
What a question to ponder! Beautiful reflection! You really have me thinking;
All through the Old Testament, the prophets gave hints to look for so the people could recognize Messiah. They did on Palm Sunday but soon forgot as quickly as a few days later. All of this makes me wonder too if I would have recognize him and even now, do I revenge him on Sunday but as the week progresses, do I still recognize him in my day to day.
looking forward to more and more of your insight!
