A Month of Thanks

November has arrived in the flash of an eye. It's a happy month filled with memories.

We celebrate the saints who intercede for us, the faithful departed souls who have gone before us, the saints who are being formed within us, and the loving souls among us now.

It is time to put away the dark Halloween decorations and prepare for A Month of Thanks. Now, let us adorn our homes with the same great enthusiasm and display light, joy, beauty, and appreciation for God's blessings.

This month is a perfect time to live and act in appreciation and thankfulness for all life. Let us embrace the pace of thankful hearts!

Don't rush December; it will come soon enough. Let's take some time to dwell on all that we are thankful for. Display photos of deceased loved ones. Read about the patron saints our family and churches are named after. Let's turn our hearts to blessings. When days are difficult and less than joyful, write out your blessings. Start with the people in the photos and blessings that came your way in the past. Cling to them, remember the joy, and thank God again for those answered prayers. Embrace hope for the new blessings yet to come.

Celebrate this Month of Thanks each and every day of November.

Name a blessing of the day, however large or small. Thank You, God!

Name a blessing of the past with a great memory to recall. Thank You, God!

Name a blessing you presently need and entrust to Him your all. Thank You, God!

Psalm 100 is the Responsorial Psalm for Thanksgiving Day.

Make it your daily prayer throughout this Month of Thanks.

Amen

I'm grateful for the gift of reading.

I'm grateful for the ability to write poetry. Reading, writing, not so good with arithmetic!

These are what I'm grateful for today.
